ENGLISH WEDDING

CHAPMAN—MILL DUNEDIN-BORN BRIDE [from our own correspondent] LONDON, July 30 Ihe wedding oi his domestic chaplain and his secretary was officiated at bv the Kt. Rev. the Bishop of Lichfield at Croydon Parish Church, on July 28. The bridegroom was the Rev. Frederick Alexander Routlev Chapman, son of the late Rev. A. Johnston Chapman and of Mrs. Chapman, of Bristol, and the bride was Miss Katherine Allin Mill, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mill, formerly of Dunedin. Mr. and Mrs. Jlill and their family are well known throughout New Zealand. Until recently, the Bishop of Lichfield was Bishop of Croydon, and the ceremony was performed in what hud been his own parish church. Mr. and Mrs. Mill have lived in the parish for a number of years. Mr. Mill gave away his daughter, who wore a becomingly trained dress of deep ecrn-tinted silk cloque striped with silver. Upon her fine lace-edged veil rested a cluster of orange blossom, with buds falling in a cascade, and her bouquet was of yellow roses and lily-of-the-vallev.

In attendance were tlireo children, Miss Sheila Mill, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W. A. Mill, Miss Rosemary Taylor, another niece of the bride, and Miss Elizabeth Thompson, granddaughter of Mr. and Airs. E. A. Eva. They wore Kate Greenaway frocks of ecru-spotted net and wreaths of gailycoloured flowers. Their loosely-tied bouquets wero in harmony. Tlio best man was Mr. W. Mercer, and the groomsmen were Mr. T. 0. Taylor, Mr. Aubrey Wyatt, of the Bank of New Zealand, and Mr. Mackenzie. All those present at the church—about 160 —went by car to Scldson Park Hotel, on the Surrey Hills, where a very pleasant reception was held. The guests were received by Mr. and Mrs. Mill and Mrs. Chapman. Wearing a soft-blue tailored suit, with hat to match, the bride and her husband left by car for the English Lakes and Scotland for a three weeks' trip. Their future home will be in Lichfield, an interesting city with a beautiful cathedral.
