CANDIDATES AT LAW
MAYOR CLAIMING £IOO PARLIAMENTARY OPPONENT CHRISTCHURCH NORTH SEAT [by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION] CBMSTCHURCH, Friday A claim for £IOO damages, made by the Mayor of Christchureh, Mr. R. M. MacFarlane, against Mr. B. Ahlfcld, has been set down for hearing in the Magistrate's Court at Christchureh on September 13. Both Mr. MacFarlane (Labour) and Mr. Ahlfcld (Independent) arc candidates in the Parliamentary elections for the Christchureh North seat. The summons was issued to-day by Mr. MacFarlane through his solicitor. The grounds for the action are stated to bo the contents of a pamphlet alleged to have been issued by Mr. Ahlfcld, in which certain roforcnces to the Mayor were made.
