DISCOVERY AT WINDSOR
ANCIENT WALL UNEARTHEDMAY DATE FROM EDWARD 111. British "tireless RUGBY, August 10; While digging a trench to lay a pipe in the lower ward of Windsor Castle, workmen found a wall several feet thick. It was about oft. below the sur* face and was in a good state of preservation. It is believed to be the foundations of the look-out tower built in the reign of Edward 111. (i 327-1377). The wall was originally an outer wa11,,, but now it is just inside the Henry VIII. Gate.
