NO SERIOUS ILLNESS
GREAT BARRIER CONDITIONS VISIT BY HEALTH, OFFICERS No illness of a serious nature was found on Great Barrier Island by the Health Department officers, who have returned to the city after making a thorough investigation over tho past week of conditions on the island. According to the reports of the investigators, there was nothing serious calling for medical attention, said Dr. T. J. Hughes, medical officer of health at Auckland, yesterday. During the past three weeks there had been a few cases of measles and whooping cough, but they had been of a mild nature and practically all the patients were convalescing. No further cases of pneumonia were reported. Tho officers had made a very thorough investigation of all conditions, added Dr. Hughes, and they expressed great praise for the work that had been carried out by tho district nurse on the island, Mrs. L. G. McLean.
