BLOW WITH FIST
YOUNG WIFE DIES After a charge of murder had been reduced, George Tracey, aged 28, was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment at the High Court, Glasgow, for the manslaughter of his 25-year-old wife. It was stated that on May 17 he attended the funeral of his six-months-old daughter, and in tho evening killed his wife by striking her on the head with his fist. Medical evidence proved that Mrs. Tracey suffered from a diseased condition of the brain. Lord Aitchison, the judge, remarked that in ordinary circumstances the blow which Tracey struck would not have proved fatal, but in this case it caused cerebral hemorrhage and death. Jt was most unusual for a woman of 25 to have tho disease from which Mrs. Tracey suffered, added the judge.
