SCHOOL AMALGAMATION
HAMILTON PROPOSALS ' REFERENCE TO THE DELAY [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Friday The delay which had occurred in receiving/advice, from tho Education Department as to its proposals for merging the Hamilton High School and the Hamilton Technical High School, the erection of a new primary school on the Palmerston estate, the establishment of an intermediate school in the town, the erection of a boys' high school at Hamilton East, and tho erection of a secondary school hostel in Hamilton was commented on at a meeting of the Technical School Board of Managers. . It was suggested that the delay might be due to the pending Education Bill, and it was stated that if a new education board was formed in Hamilton the position might be altered considerably. The board decided to write to the High School Board of Governors asking for its co-operation in arranging a public meeting to consider tho present unsatisfactory position with regard to the amalgamation of tho two Hamilton secondary schools.
