NURSES HONOURED
EXAMINATION SUCCESSES PRESENTATION OF MEDALS [from oun own con respondent] HAMILTON, Friday A pleasant function took place at tho Waikato Hospital, when medals and certificates wcro presented to those nurses who had been success-; ful in passing the recent State registered nurses' and maternity nurses' examinations. Among those present were the chairman of the Waikato Hospital Board, Mr. F. Findlay, members of tho board, Dr.. M. M. Hockin, medical superintendent, Miss D. Menzies, lady superintendent, and Mr. J. J. Ryburn, a former chairman. Mr. Findlay congratulated the successfu! nurses, and particularly Miss G. G. Nicoll, »who had been placed first in New Zealand in the State registered nurses' examination, Miss. M. Norrish, for excellent conduct and efficiency during the period of her training, and Miss M. G. Shochan, who had won first place in New Zealand with her essay, "Nursing Technique ns a Link in the Prevention of Disease. Miss Nicoll received a gold medal, and Miss Norrish a silver medal.
