£76,000 DURING YEAR DISTRIBUTIONS TO CHARITY [BY TKIiTCGHArir —OWN CORRESPONDENT] WELLINGTON, Wednesday Ten art unions, for prizes amounting to £SOOO in each instance, were conducted during the year ended March 31 last, the amount received for gross sales amounting to £207,464. After tho payment of prizes, commissions and expenses, the net proceeds amounted to £97,107. Lottery duty accounted for £20,746, leaving a net profit of £76,361. Of this amount £45,000 was distributed to mayoral and other funds, established for tho relief of distress, making a total of £280,000 for that purpose during tho last few years, while £18,500 was allotted to other philanthropic and charitable organisations. The sum of £10,280 was set aside lor children's health camps.
