STORMS IN ENGLAND
RECURRENCE REPORTED LONDON'S WETTEST DAY DAMAGE AT RAMSGATE British Wireless RUGBY, August 8 Following a week-end of further heavy rains and thunderstorms, London yesterday experienced the wettest day for eight months. Severe thunderstorms have been reported to-day over eastern counties. At Ramsgate a parish church was struck by lightning, while telephones and the electricity supply were temporarily put out of action.
