WAIKATO RIVER CONTROL
THE LEGAL POSITION [from our owx correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday Correspondence was received by the Waikato County Council from the Raglan County Council to-day stating that a legal opinion had been obtained to the effect that the control of the Waikato liiver was vested in the Marine Department. The Public Works Act, 1928, did not give local bodies authority to undertake the removal of willows and other obstructions from the river.
