MAGISTRATE'S ESCAPE
COLLISION ON BRIDGE ' MOTOR-OAR AND LORRY DAMAGE TO VEHICLES [BV TELEGRAI'II —OWN CORRESPONDENT] DARGAVILLE. Friday A magistrate and. two others were involved in an accident when returning to Dargavilie after inspecting the scene of a collision in respect to which a claim for damages was heard in the Dargavilie Magistrate's" Court. The car, in which Mr. G. N. Morris, S.M., was travelling as a passenger, collided with a truck on the bridge over the railway line on the Tangowafaine Road. The car and the truck were slightly damaged, but all the occupants escaped injury. TWO TRUCKS BLOCK TRAFFIC ONE VEHICLE WRECKED. [bv telegram —own correspondent] DARGAVILLE. Friday Two trucks were involved in a headon collision on ■ a one-way bridge on the Dargaville-Ruawai main highway, but although one vehicle was wrecked and the other extensively damaged the occupants escaped without serious injury. The accident caused a dislocation of traffic and 20 cars were held up until the telescoped vehicles could be separated. This required the use of a crowbar and the services of 20 people who had assembled at the spot.
