CHARGES OF THEFT

BRISBANE BANK CLERK COMMITTAL FOR TRIAL BRISBANE, August <• A clerk, Cecil Roberts Trotman Foote, aged 37, who was charged in the Brisbane Police Court on June 28 with, having stolen money belonging to the National Bank of Australasia, has been committed for trial on six charges of theft. Foote pleaded not guilty and reserved his defence. A cablegram on June 28 stated that the police said Foote had admitted his defalcations, saying he had paid about £50.000 to one bookmaker and between £15,000 and £20,000 to another.
