ATTRACTIVE FILM FOR CIVIC Wirh a cast comprised of leading artists from almost every field of entertainment, the spectacular Samuel Goldwyn production " 1 he Goldwyn follies" will commence a season at the Civic Theatre to-morrow. The picture was produced entirely iu teehnieolour and, although this is Goldwyn's first departure from the ordinary filming, the delicate and imaginative use o| colour is one of the most impressive features of I,his production. The chief role is played by Adolphe Meujou, who gives an accomplished performance as a Hollywood producer who finds himself losing touch with his• public. Ho therefore appoints a typical American girl, a role capably portrayed by Andrea Leeds, to criticise the pictures in production from the point of view of the average theatregoer. Most of the scenes are laid in the lilm studio and thus the opportunity is given to many celebrated artists fo perform. This picture marks I lie first appearance in a lull length lilm of Edgar Hergeii and his doll, Charlie McCarthy, who has become one of ihe outstanding personalities of the American radio. While listening to the inimitable patter of the doll it is dilf'tcult to I'ejilse t hat. li is all due fo Hergeii's artistry as a ventriloquist.
