GRAMMAR SCHOOLS' NEEDS PUPILS FROM THE COUNTRY Requests from the headmaster of the Mount Albert Grammar School, Mr. E. W. Gamble, and tho headmistress of the Epsom Girls' Grammar School. Miss M. pupils, were received at the meeting of the board of governors of the Auckland Grammar School yesterday. Both letters stated that the need for such accommodation was imperative.

At present there were pupils in the hostel and another 61 in private hoard. "Eor present needs,'' the letter continued, "the building might be enlarged to take SO hoys, but 1 would suggest that two houses, each to accommodate 60 pupils, should he built." A similar request was received from Miss Louden, who stated that the present arrangements for boarding of country pupils were unsatisfactory and ■that lho same difficulty existed at Epsom in providing for country pupils as had been experienced elsewhere. "I am opposed to the idea of enlarging the hostel at the Mount Albert

Grammar School to take SO boys," said the chairman, Dr. E. Roberton. "Eifty is quit** enough." It was decided to forward copies of the letters to the Eduafion Dcepartmorit.
