STEEPLECHASE TRACK ELLERSLIE IMPROVEMENTS Now on the final stages of completion is the now steeplechase track at Ellerslie. The track, of over two furlongs, has been formed on the outside of the course proper along the back straight. With the exception of the final run home down the straight, steeplechases will now be run over a separate course and in the winter this will have the effect of saving the course proper a great deal. Two permanent fences are to be erected along the back, and the track, which has an excellent surface and a good sole of grass, will bo raced on for the first time at the Auckland Racing Club's Easter meeting. DEPARTURE FOR SYDNEY STRETTO AND LOVE PARADE Stretto and Love Parade left Auckland for Sydney last night by tho Wanganclla. Stretto, who has gone in charge of her usual attendant, A. Moore, is to enter J. T. Jamieson's stable at Randwiek, while Love Parade will go on to Melbourune, where he will bo taken over by J. Kryer at Caullieltl. During the last few weeks of her preparation Stretto has done everything required of her in very pleasing manner and it is doubtful if she; has over looked in better order. Providing she trains on, the brilliant Hunting Song mare will be a strong contender for some of the important spring events :ii, Sydney. RACING FIXTURES July 23—Rangitikei Hunt Club.
