Killadar has failed in his lost two -starts, but was third in the Taniaki Steeplechase at Ellerslio to Kinkle and Power Chief. Cordon and Simint have not shown form lately, but Electric Flash was second at Te Rapa and is now in more forward condition than she was then! Day Wind is in good form and Maori Song is handily placed to make amends for his defeats at Trentham. SPRINTS AT TE RAPA TRADESMAN IMPRESSIVE [BY TELEGItAPH OWN COUKESI'ONDKNT] Hamilton, Friday An attractive half-mile by Tradesman was the outstanding gallop at Te Rapa this morning, when the No. 3 grass was availed of by candidates for the Matamata meeting. In spite of the heavy rain of yesterday, the going was fairly good. Phileinup and Miss Clipper were associated over half a mile, run in 53 4-ss, which was a good effort for horses of their class. Malagigi (Goldsbro) ran once round in 1.5(5, increasing the pace over the final five furlongs, which ho ran in 1.12 l-o, Raceline wifs revelling in his work to record 43s for three furlongs. Orac ran the last five furlongs of six well in 1.9. Susan required 42s for three furlongs. Te Monatekapa occupied 1.55J for a round. He is to contest the Pcria Steeplechase to-morrow and has been pleasing in his recent essays. Tradesman ran half a mile in 52 4-os. He was travelling well within himself and, in the event of a heavy tiack ruling to-morrow, his prospects will be enhanced.
