MOTUEKA ' RIVER BOARD CHAIRMAN RESUMES OFFICE [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION] NELSON. Friday The tranquillity of the Motueka River Board, which was disturbed Inst week owing to the resignation of the chairman. Mr. A. E. Fry. on account of some members objecting to him writing to the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. 11. Semple, without consulting the board, was restored last evening, when the adjourned meeting was held. The previous meeting was adjourned because all the members refused nomination as acting-chairman. The secretary, Mr. A. L. Kirk, in reply to a member, snid that since the last meeting had terminated without a chairman no resolution had been passed, and the present meeting was really a continuation of the previous meeting. Other members refused nomination and at the unanimous request of fellow members Mr. Fry, > ( the former chairman. accepted nomination and was elected, accepting office in order to see the ratepayers' business proceeded with.
