WEEK-END ATTRACTIONS

REPRESENTATIVE RUGBY MANY SPORTS FIXTURES Chief interest among Rugby followers this afternoon will centre in tho representative match at l'.den Park between the Auckland and North Auckland teams. The Auckland combination has been successful in all its previous engagements, and, as tho northern team is fast and heavy in both forwards and backs, an even contest should result. With the teams strengthened by the return of members of the representative side from Australia, competition among the senior Rugby League clubs promises to be keen. The main attraction at Carlaw Park will bo the meeting between Mount Albert and Richmond, while North Shore and Ponsonbv will contest the preliminary. An interesting stage has been reached in the senior Association football competition, with a number of teams separated by only a small number of points. At Blandford Park to-dav, Comrades will meet Thistle in the late fixture. North Shore will meet Y.M.C.A. on the main ground at Devonport. • The Auckland Basketball Association's championship competitions will be continued at the Windmill Road courts this afternoon, and representative plavers will hold an early practice. The Beach Haven Cycling Club will meet the Takapuna Amateur Cycling Club in two invitation races on the lake course at the North Shore, while golf and harrier clubs will continue their competitions.
