YACHTSMEN'S DANCE

PONSONBY CRUISING CLUB MANY MEMBERS ATTEND PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES The close of a successful yachting season was celebrated last evening by members ol the Ponsonby Cruising Club at a dance arranged by the officers and committee in the Peter Pan cabaret. The Hag of the club, navy blue banded with white, held pride of place in the decorative scheme, while tubs oi miniature trees, bamboo foliage and palms were grouped in the corners of the ballroom. The guests, who included the commodore of the club, Mr. J. J. Mackay, and representatives from kindred clubs in Auckland, the Suva Yacht Club and tho Paremata Boating Club, Wellington, were received by the president, Captain J. McKinnon and Mrs. McKin--11011, who was wearing a frock of black taffetas relieved with red flowers. The trophies won during the past season were displayed 011 a table in the ballroom, and during au interval in the dancing these were presented to the winners by Captain McKinnon.
