FUTURE ROYAL SHOWS
INVERCARGILL NEXT YEAR i CENTENNIAL FIXTURE [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON. Friday A report of the sub-committee on the proposal to hold a centennial Royal Show was submitted to the resumed annual meeting of tho Royal Agricultural Society to-day. Tho committee considered that tho holding of such a show in 1910 in temporary buildings in or near Wellington was impracticable, and it also viewed unfavourably the suggestion of holding tho summer show in tho autumn of ]940 at Palmerston North. The committee could recommend no practicable scheme for holding a centennial show, but recommended that the Royal Show he held in lnvercargill in 19.'i9, to be designated the Royal Centennial Show. A recommendation was made also that the committee should continue and formulate a scheme for the future conduct of Royal Shows to he presented at the time of the 1938 Show at Hamilton in October
