SOCIAL AT OHAKUNE
BRIDE-TO-BE HONOURED Prior to her departure from Ohakune owing to her approaching marriage, Miss M. York was the guest of honour at a social held in the council chambers at Ohakune. The Mayor, Mr. H. Delamor, was present, and also councillors, ex-councillors and members of tho borough staff. Appreciation of Miss York's services was expressed by the Mayor, who, on behalf of the councillors and borough staff, presented her with a handsome mantel clock. The town clerk, Mr. S. Torepe, also spoke appreciatively of Miss York's work during the past nine years.
