VISITS FROM OVERSEAS __ 1 REQUEST FOR ENGLISH SIDE Probable visits from overseas teams •- were discussed at last night's "meeting' of the control board of the Auckland Football Association. An inquiry made to the New Zealand Council relative to the possibility of a visit from an Indian side resulted in a reply that negotiations were proceeding with certain members of the Indian hockey team now touring the Dominion, but that nothing had been finalised. A copy of a letter sent to the English Football Association by the New Zealand Council was read, in which it was suggested that an English side should visit the Dominion in 1910. The fact that New Zealand would then be celebrating its centennial was stressed in the letter. 1 .
