Commodore H. E. Horan, Chief of Naval Staff, left for Wellington by the limited express last night.
Mr. and Mrs. P. Winstone will be passengers by the Maunganui, which leaves Auckland to-day for the Islands.
Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Vesty, of Christchurch, will leave Auckland by the Maunganui to-day on a round vovarrA of the Islands.
Mr. E. Casey is acting-general manager of railways during the absence of tho general manager, Mr. G. H. Mackley, in Australia.
Captain R. C. Hammond, manager of tho Northern Steamship Company Limited, returned from Wellington bv train yesterday morning.
Mr. H. F. Searl, chief Government civil engineer for New South Wales, will make the Islands cruise by the Maunganui leaving Auckland to-day.
Lieutenant S. R. Le H. LombardHobson, naval aide-de-camp to the Governor-General, was a passenger for Wellington by last night's limited express.
Mr. E. G. Martin, general manager for New Zealand of the Atlantic Union Oil Company, Limited, arrived from Wellington yesterday by the limited express and is at the Grand Hotel.
Mr. Arthur Tilly, a member of the management committee of the Auckland Rugby Union, will leave for Sydney by the Monterey to-morrow in order to tour with the All Blacks in Australia.
Mr. H. Hunter, managing-director of Paramount Film Service, Limited, Australia, who has been making a brief business visit to the Dominion, will return to Sydney by the Monterey tomorrow.
Mr. J. H. Lindon, general manager for New Zealand of the Vacuum Oil Company Proprietary, Limited, arrived by the express from Wellington yesterday morning and returned by last night's limited express.
Mr. L. T. Burrows, formerly a district commissioner in the Bengal Civil Service, will arrive at Auckland by the Aorangi on Monday. He will be entertained at a luncheon by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce on the following day.
Mr. J. I. Craig, economic adviser to the Ministry of Finance, Egypt, who visited New Zealand some years ago, will arrive in Auckland on July 20. It is expected that he will speak at a complimentary luncheon to be given by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce on July 21.
Mr. V. Tamura, New Zealand representative of the Yamashita Kisen Kaisha Line, accompanied by Mr. M. Suzuki, retiring representative, arrived in Auckland from the south yesterday. Mr. Tamura will leave by the Shanghai Maru for Wellington to-mor-row and Mr. Suzuki will join her at Lyttelton for Japan. They are at the Station Hotel.
Dr. Walter Horton, professor of dogmatic theology iu Oberlin School of Theology. Ohio, United States, will arrive at Auckland by the Monterey from San Francisco to-mor-row. With Dr. H. P. Van Dusen, of Union Theological Seminary. New York, he is, travelling under the auspices of the World Student Christian Federation, and he will spend about* month in New Zealand, returning to Auckland for five days at the end of this month. From July 13 to 15 Professor Horton will take the leading part in a theolpgical conference - in Christchurch.
