CANADIAN FASCISTS
CONVENTION FIZZLES OUT CIVIC BAN ON PARADE (Received July 5, 5.5 p.m.) OTTAWA. July 5 The widely-publicised first national convention of the Canadian Fascists, which was to have been held at Kingston, Ontario, fizzled out following a civic ban on the holding of a parade or demonstrations. Mr. Adrien Arcand, their leader, issued a statement from his hotel in which he asserted that the 80 delegates were meeting secretly. The Federal Department of Justice announces that an investigation reveals that the Fascists are receiving no foreign financial aid, and that reports that arms have been smuggled into Canada are groundless.
