FAREWELL AFTERNOON The social room at St. Luke's Parish Hall was attractively decorated With Iceland poppies when members ol St. Luke's Ladies' Guild and the flower show committee combined to give Mrs. A. Newson a farewell afternoon prior to her departure from Rotorua to make her future home in. Matamata. On behalf of the two clubs, Archdeacon Hodgson presented Mrs. Newson with a beautiful crystal rose bowl and expressed the appreciation of all those present for tho work Mrs. Newson bad done in all the activities connected with the clrirch. During the afternoon songs were (liven by Mrs. Ramsbottom and Mrs. Ray Lee, and competitions were won by Mrs. E. A. McCutclieon and Mrs. R. Hodgson. Mrs. D. W. Steele and Miss Roma Steele, of {'"mora Street, left Auckland by tho Mariposa on a visit to the Islands and the United States. Mrs. D Kayo, of Wellincton. who has been visiting Rotorua, left on Mondav for Auckland. Mrs. C. P. Allen, of Rangiuru Street, has returned home after spending a few days in Auckland. Mrs. G. Saunders, of High Street, is visiting Wellington. Mrs. S. ,T. Robinson, of Auckland, vi«i*ed Rotorua at the week-end. Miss E. Andrews, of Wellington, who is touring New Zealand in the interests of tho Pan-Pacific Women's Association. visifed Rotorua last week. Mrs ,T. B. Stanshury. of Opob'ki. who has been visiting h°r mother, Mrs, E. A. Meredith, of Hinemoa Street. hn« returned home. Miss T,. Yoisev. of Auckland, is visiting Rotorua.
