RACIAL DISCRIMINATION CIVILISATION SHOCKED British "Wireless RUGBY, June 22 In the course of the debate in the House of Commons on foreign affairs, Mr. Arthur Henderson (Labour — Kingswinford) referred to the persecution of Jews in parts of Europe as the result of a policy of racial discrimination, and spoke of excesses which, lie said, had shocked the whole of civilisation. Mr. Henderson asked the Government to take an active, helpful part in the forthcoming conference at Evian-lcs-Bains. Britain is to be represented at the conference by Earl Winterton, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, and Mr. C. M. Palairet, formerly British Minister at Vienna. DISGUST IN GERMANY ANTI-J EWISH CAMPAIGN FEELING REPORTED GENERAL BERLIN, Juno 22 Although the Minister of Propaganda, Dr. Goebbels, has proclaimed that the mere presence of Jews is an irritation to Germans, the daughter of the Foreign Minister, Hcrr von Pibbentrop, has entered the clinic of Dr. Oljenick, a brain specialist in Amsterdam. All classes in Germany are disgusted at the anti-Jewish campaign and some arc even saying that they are almost ashamed to be German, says the Berlin correspondent of the Daily Telegraph. There is reason to believe that HenHitler is not aware of the painful impression created abroad.
