SUCCESSFUL BAZAAR
OPENING BY MAYORESS STALLS AND BABY SHOW COMMUNITY SUNSHINE Brisk business was done yesterday at the sale of work held by the Women's Auxiliary of tho Community Sunshine Association in the Concert Chamber. The proceeds of tlrn sale will go to the funds of the Sunshine School, where wonderful work is being done among the tubercular and invalid children of the city.
The proceedings wi re opened by the Mayoress, Lad} Davis, who was introduced by Sir George Richardson. Afterward Mrs. J. B. McKendrick presented Lady Davis with a bouquet.
The encouragement to buy set by the example of the Mayoress was well followed. Very early in the afternoon heavy inroads had been made on the stalls. In tho evening an entertainment, arranged by Mrs. C. D. Simpson, was given.
The organisers of the effort were Mrs. Eliot Davis and Mrs. A. Blomfield. Mrs. 0. A. Kavaye was the secretary. The conveners of the stalls were as follows: —Pro.duce, Mrs. G. Marsh; sweets, Mrs. G. Kerr; cabbage patch, Mrs. E. J. Sexton; orange tree, Mrs. W. C. Salmon; flowers, Mrs. E. R. Naughton; novelties, Mrs. Corrie Whyte; fancy work, Mrs. W. Bright and Mrs. W. F. Allen; books, Mrs. H. Burton and S. Simpson; cakes, Mrs. G. Kerr; tearooms, Mrs. G. A. Downie; baby show, Mrs. G. McCook. The baby show was judged by Nurse Atkinson and Nurse Vickerman. The successful babies were: —Up to three months, Pamela Shanks. Three to six months: Joy Makovina, 1; Mary Jones, 2. Six to 12 months: Barry Espie, 1; Maureen Farrell, 2. Twelve to 18 months: Valerie Newman, 1; Dale Knolan, 2. Eighteen months to two years: Eileen Davidson.
