ACUTE MILK SHORTAGE
POSITION IN HAWKE'S BAY RESULT OF RECENT FLOODS [BT TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] HASTINGS, Thursday The most serious shortage of milk in northern Hawke's Bay for years is at present being felt as a result of the recent floods. The shortage reached its peak in both Hastings and Napier to-day when children attending primary schools in the district. were forced to forfeit their usual milk ration.
The principal retailers of both towns have, since the floods, been forced to obtain supplies from southern Hawke's Bay, and much of the delivery now comes from Dannevirke. These supplies were obtained only with the assistance of the Department of Agriculture.
