WAR VETERANS' PENSIONS
CONCERN AT OTAHUHU VIEWS OF RETURNED MEN "Varying statements as to the intentions of the Government in regard to the returned men and their right to pensions have been made during this week, and we are at a loss to understand the position," was the comment made in a statement by the executive of the Otahuhu branch of the, Returned Soldiers' Association on Wednesday night. . Officials stated that at their annual reunion last Saturday, a member of the Government, Mr. C. R. Pctrie, M.P. for Hauraki, had assured them in his speech that the Government would give the most sympathetic consideration to returned men's claims. The executive considered that the attitude of the Government should be clearly stated to remove doubts and to ensure that the special services rendered by returned men would be recognised.
