Mrs. B. H. H. Edkins, of Kerikeri, is at the Grand Hotel. Miss Betty Aird, Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs. Charles Forbes, King Edward Parade, Devonport. Mrs. E. G. Aickin, of Paparoa, is visiting her sister, Airs. W. H. McCorkindale, Portland Road, Remuera.
Miss Ruby Palmer, of Epsom, will leave by the Mariposa to-morrow for Sydney en route to Java and Singapore.
Mrs. B. Lusk, of Te Kuiti, and Miss Lawlor, of Tapu, will leave for Sydney by the Mariposa to-morrow on a month's visit.
Mrs. J. H. Waters, of Crescent Road. Parnell, will leave bv the Awatea tomorrow with her husband on an' extended visit to Queensland and Singapore.
' Mrs. D. R. Revell, of Tawera Road. One Tree Hill, and her daughter, Miss Grace McFlinn, will leave to-morrow by the Awatea for a holiday in Australia.
The Hon. Mrs. E. Molesworth and her daughter Miss Betty Molesworth, have returned to Auckland from a visit to Tauranga, where they were the guests of Mrs. M. Prior, of Otumoetai.
Mrs. G. McCloghrie. Kitchener Road, Takapuna, and her daughter. Miss Kay McCloghrie, will leave by the Awatea to-morrow and will connect with the Oronsay in Sydney en route to England.
At the Station Hotel are:—Mrs. N. Cnrty-Saimon and Mrs. 8.-A. Davis (Sydney), Mrs. E. L. Smith (Auckland), Misses W. Mitchell and E. R. Spencer (Te Puke) and Miss R. Morrison (Wanganui).
Mrs. W. A. Boucher and Miss Dulcie Boucher, of Orakfei Road, Reinuera, will leave by the Mariposa to-morrow evening for Australia, where they will remain for about six weeks in Sydney and Melbourne.
An exceptionally fine display of clothing was on view in the Catholic Women's League rooms this week. The occasion was the bi-annual garment appeal of the league, and the garments will be distributed among the orphanages and charitable institutions.
A bridge afternoon for the Eden and Epsom area of tho Mount Roskill electorate was held at the home of Mrs. S. J. Harbutt, Selwyn Road, Epsom, yesterday by National Party members. Tho guests were welcomed by Airs. Harbutt and by the president, Airs. W. Marks. Prize winners were Mrs. Wetlierall, Mrs. Gow and Miss Hodge. Twenty-five tables were occupied by players, and afternoon tea was served by the committee.
