FOOTBALL IN AUSTRALIA
LEAGUE TEAM'S TRAINING NOTABLE RUGBY OMISSION (Received June 8, 12.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 7 The members of the New Zealand Rugby League team are training solidly and the whole side should be fit and well. The team for Saturday is likely to be much lighter than New South Wales, who scale on the average 12st. 61b. in the backs and 14st. in the forwards, compared with the Kiwis' list. 71b. in the backs and 13st. 61b. in the forwards.
Cyril Towers has unexpectedly been omitted from tne New South Wales Rugby Union team to meet Queensland and Victoria, which is interpreted to mean the selectors are searching for new blood in anticipation of the All Blacks' visit.
