AUCKLAND AUXILIARY ACTIVITIES DURING YEAR Encouraging reports of various activities within the Church, were received at the annual conference of the Auckland Auxiliary of the New Zealand Baptist Union, held at the Sandringhara Baptist Church on Monday. There was an attendance of over 100 delegates and Mr. A. T. Dow presided. The lifting of the bap on the circulation of the Bible during tho reign of Henry VIII., 400 years ago, was tho subject of a resolution of gratitude and reference was made to tho benefits which the open Bible had brought to the British Empire. Churches were urged to hold special services to mark the 250 th anniversary of the death of John Bun,van, which occurred in August, 1688. . It was reported that during the year the Auckland Baptist Social Service Association had distributed 3199 articles of clothing, 500 parcels of eroccries, 407 bags of coal ami wood, 115 pairs of boots and 200 other articles, a total of 4421. Officers were elected as follows: President, tho Bev. L. P. Crampton; vice-president, Mr. H. Kitchen; secretary, tho Bov. J. Hiddlestono; treasurer, Mr. W. Bigelow; minute secretary. Mr. R. Dopovan; executive, Messrs. F. W. Gaze T J, Morris, J. D. Kemp, C. D. M. Jofie, O. 8. Wiles, J. Sutcliffo, B. Williams, C. White, J. H. Barker, D.- W. Doull, J A. Penman, W. J. Pearce, J. A. Turner, A. R: Penman, J. Edgar, P. Hay ward, E. Houison, C. K. Mills, H. Bearsley and I r . Thorpe. Considerable interest centred upon a special report concerning the work among Europeans and Maoris being carried out by. tho South Auckland Baptist Association and support in this work was promised. Special reference was made to the work for the Baptist Church carried out by the late Mr. John Graham, of Avondalo. whoso death occurred last week. Mr. Graham was a member of the original executive of tho Auckland Baptist Assembly and was responsible for the establishment of the Christian Endeavour Society in New Zealand. He was an ardent advocate of temperance reform and was a foundation member of the Avonoale Baptist Church,
