DARG AVILLE PROPOSAL BOARD APPROVES SCHEME [by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] DARG AVILLE, Snnday The construction of a new hospital at. Dargaville at a cost of not more than £BO.OOO was decided upon by the Kaipara Hospital Board after a lengthy discussion at a special meeting. Before the local body elections the board had decided to proceed with its building programme, but the plan was opposed by several members. The .meeting followed a special tour of inspection of the present Northern Wairoa Hospital at Te Kopuru. As a result of the chairman, Mr. P. 11. Waldcn, exercising his casting vote, the decision that the building programme as authorised by the previous board be continued was carried by five votes to four. Tlio site of the hospital, which is situated on Awakino Eoad, has already been purchased and authority had been given for the architect to prepare plans for the new building.
