TRADE IN AUCKLAND

WHOLESALE AND RETAIL BRISK BUSINESS REPORTED TOBACCO DELIVERY DATES With their first orders on June Account despatched to the country on Monday, Auckland wholesale merchants this week have experienced a continuance of the brisk business that has marked the trading over the last few weeks. Many large orders have already been dealt with and it is generally expected that the steady demand will cohtinue.

Tobacco deliveries for the period Juno 1 to June 16 will be made next week. Many lines usually in demand during the colder months of the year continue to meet with a keen inquiry. A local packer of canned peas has advised that all last season's supplies have been cleared and no more will be available until the new crop in December. PINEAPPLES Cables from Singapore have confirmed the rumour that, quotations for pineapples are liable to advance and to-day's market is up by approximately 2d a dozen on the price quoted a week ago. Shippers are only offering to cover forward shipment at the ruling price for three months, after which they are asking for a premium. BRAZIL KERNELS Shipments of new season's Brazil nut kernels are now beginning to arrive and have opened up in very good condition. The market tendency, however, is very difficult to gauge as various shippers seem to have different ideas in regard to price.
