AMBULANCE BALL

TE AROHA FUNCTION APPEAL FOR FUNDS A lore than 500 dancers from Te Aroha and the surrounding districts attended the ambulance ball held in the Catholic Hall at Te Aroha last week. The president of the local organisation announced during the evening that as a result of the ball, which concluded an appeal for funds to pay for the newly-erected ambulance and Boy Scout hall, the hall could now be opened free of debt, also that the_ committee could now begin the furnishing of the building. TENNIS CLUB DANCE FUNCTION AT AVONDALE The presentation of trophies won during the past season was made at the annual ball of the Avondale Tennis Club, held in the Town Hall. The president. Air. N. Robertson, welcomed the guests, and with the patron, Air. P. Adams, presented the trophies. The ladies' committee comprised:— Airs. H. Potter, who wore black chiffon velvet; Airs.
