SOCIAL EVENING
POWER BOAT ASSOCIATION MANY MEMBERS ATTEND The first of a series of social evenings arranged by the flag officers and committee of the New Zealand Power Boat Association was held in the Catholic Women's League rooms on Saturday evening. The function was well attended, dancing and bridge being the entertainment provided. Bowls of autumn-toned chrysanthemums were arranged in the lounge, where the card games were played, while the ballroom was hung with clusters of multi-coloured balloons which were later distributed among the dancers.

Walker, the latter wearing a graceful frock of black ripple satin. The ladies' committee comprised: — Airs. Bell-Booth, who was wearing a frock of midnight blue crepe; Aliss May Tyrrell, in leaf green moire satin; Aliss Joyce Alason, lacquer red coin-spotted taffetas; Aliss Betty Henderson, navy blue lace; Aliss Betty Hamblin, gold shimmer satin; Aliss Gwen Aliles, Burgundy ring velvet. Others present included: —Airs. P. Hamblin, in black cire satin; Airs. L. Phil pot, black and gold satin tunic frock; Mrs. L. Aldred, black and gold metalasse; Airs. K. Turner, black satin with silver embroideries; Airs. A. Payne, navy blue satin; Airs. S. Rees, black metalasse threaded with gold; Airs. C. Francis, black ring velvet; Airs. F. L. Rathbone, red clover crepe; Mrs. Al. Lock, black georgette and silver lame; Airs. G. Cain, powder blue ripple satin; Airs. R. Johnson, black ring velvet; Airs. Al. McAlahon, green and white patterned silk; Airs. J. G. Wilson, black Chantilly lace; Airs. 10. Boyle, black satin and gold lame; Miss Marjorie Alegson, black ring velvet; Al iss C. Russell, ivory and blue patterned silk; Aliss Alice Hirst, leaf green floral satin; Aliss Al. Rattray, lilac satin; Miss M. Brewer, pastel pink floral georgette; Aliss G. Rees, deep coral taffetas; Aliss W. Renshaw. black crei>e patterned in beige and rose; Aliss Al. Peterson, black patterned silk; Miss Al. McKay, cameo pink floral silk; Miss P.
