AERODROME DEVELOPMENT POWER SUPPLY IMPROVEMENT [by, telegraph—own correspondent] TAURANGA. Saturday The Tauranga Borough Council has received a letter from the district engineer of the Public Works Department, Mr; R. H. P. Ronayne, that to date expenditure on the Tauranga aerodrome, wharf, and access .roads has been £13,000. The council is responsible for the purchase of the land, the total area being .about 300 acres.. . The. Under-Secretary of the Native Department, Mr. O. N. Campbell, has informed the council that the departinent canhot; undertake the. liabilities of guaranteeing the payment; for water to . Maori residents at MatapiJu, across the harbour from Tauranga. .' The'.' borough" /engineer, v W. Boak, reports . that the 1500. k.v.a. transformer for McLaren's Falls lias been transported to the power house, and the work of putting it'into position is now in operation. This unit was ordered about. n year ago, and is required to safeguard the supply of current of 33,000 volts'. The Omanawa power plant is functioning to full out? put, and is in first-class order;
