NEWCOMER TO APPEAR MATCH ON SATURDAY NIGHT Yet another of the new season's wrestling importations will he seen in the Auckland ring on Saturday night, "Irish" Jack Kennedy, from Texas, who will be opposed by the popular local wrestler Lofty Blomfield. A big house is assured every time Blomfield's name appears on the card, and, with Kennedy in the other corner, the Town Hall seems assured of one of its capacity nights. Kennedy, who was reared on' a rauch, was introduced to wrestling while at.college and subsequently had a year's tuition from Farmer Burns before turning professional. The newcomer is an extremely versatile wrestler, having an almost endless variety of attacking and defensive holds," while his immense strength and ruggedness make him a highly ;lormiciable proposition. One of his best achievements was to defeat) Yvon Robert, the well-known Canadian wrestler, and another of his victims was Stanley Pinto, whom New Zealanders remember as a very solid wrestler. Kennedy's forearm jolts, dropkicks—which lie launches with great suddenness—and flying tackles, will present a menace to Blomfield, as also will Ins flying toe-hold, a manoeuvre which lie can execute with the adroitness of Fraley. Blomfield will not easily be induced to play second fiddle and everything points to a livelv contest. A correspondent, H. 8., Hamilton, asks whether Lofty Blomfield ever ijie_t Ed Don George in a wrestling match in New Zealand.—Two matches were held in the Auckland Town Hall, one on November 24, 19,'<6. and the other on November 30 of the same year, in the first contest George scored a win while on the second occasion Blomhelcl held him to a draw.—Athletics Editor.
