Mrs. T. U. Levien, of Empire Road, Epsom, and her family, are spending the school holidays at Omiha, Waiheke. Miss Hilda Fancourt, St. Mary's Cathedral vicarage, Parnell, has left to spend a fortnight's holiday at Lake Taupo. , Mrs. J. Parker and her two daughters, of Wellington, accompanied by her husband, left" yesterday by the Ruahine for England. Mrs. T. Pickering (Jam all ere), Mrs. E. Wilson and Miss A. Hare, of Mercury Bay, accompanied by her daughter, Betty, sailed by the Ruahine on an extended visit to England aftd the Continent. Miss Marjorie Steven, of Cotter Avenue, Remuera, left by the Awatea yesterday for Sydney where she will join the Ormonde for England. Miss Steven intends to spend a year visiting Great Britain and the Continent. Miss W. Gillespie, who has been staving with Mrs. Eric \V aters, of Epsom; will leave on Sunday night by the limited express to stay with Mrs. Owen Gillespie in Wellington. She will sail on May 20 by the Arawa for London. Students and their friends held a successful modern British composers evening at the home of Mrs. M. Poole on {Saturday night. A talk was given, and a programme of pianoforte solos and duets, songs, vocal duets and twopart choruses by British composers, was presented. Mrs. L. R. Chomley (Geelong, Australia), Mrs. G. H. Snodgrass (Te Puke), Mrs. N. Wilson, Mrs. A. S. Morley and. Miss E. Connolly (Wellington), Mrs. F. J. Christensen (Marton), Mrs. H. C. Mott (Brisbane), Mrs. A. Wilder (Waipukurau) and Mrs. B.
