THE LEAGUE CODE

SUCCESSFUL APPEAL MATCH TO BE REPLAYED REQUEST FROM TARANAKI A decision to replay the North Shore v. Richmond senior match was made at last evening's meeting of the Auckland Rugby League, which discussed, in committee, a protest hv the North Shore Club asking that it bo awarded the game, or. as an alternative, that it be replayed. The game last Saturday was won on tho call of time by Richmond by 20 points to 19. The chairman, Mr. G. Grey Campbell, stated subsequently in open mooting that the referee's report dealt with a number of facts, also an admission that he had given one wrong decision on the laws of the game. The kick at goal following the penalty try should have been taken in line with the obstruction and not in front of tho goal. As tho result of a judicial inquiry into an incident which occurred a fortnight ago lust Saturday in a senior game at Carlaw Park, T. Whye, Manukau, was suspended for one playing Saturday, and E. Breed, Marist, was severely cautioned. W. Glover, Marist, who was also implicated, was ordered to appear before the committee before he again plays. The evidence was taken in committee. Dealing with the injury to J. R. Banham in the, North Shore-Richmond match last Saturday, Mr. Campbell said ho wished to refute the insinuation that the coach was deliberately hurt. In a statement to tho chairman, Banham said it was a pure accident. The New Zealand Rugby League advised that Auckland's application to invite tho champion Sydney club team to Auckland at the end of the present season had been deferred until a later date. The parent, body also notified that the New South Wales Rugbv League had given full clearance to W. Walker, whose registration with tho Mount Albert Club was approved. The Taranaki League wrote asking for tho visit of a senior team to New Plymouth on the occasion of a bye. A deputation present from tho Newton Club expressed a desire to play in Taranaki. It was decided to keep Newton's request in view for consideration later in the season. Tho following transfers were approved:— R. P. Tatana, Manukau to City; C. J?. McNeil. Wellington to Mount Albert: T. Blackledge, Wellington to Northcote; B. McGrenl, Marist to Ngaruawahia; D. Hourigan, Newton to Ponsonby; A. J. Couper, Richmond to Ponsonby; R.
