From a good start, Light Comedy took the lead and passing the stand led from Kilonsa, Shy and Gay Rose, who were in line together, and then Paso Robles, Master Brierly and Malagigi. As thej turned into the back, Light Coinedv increased her lead to two lengths' from Kilonsa, on the rails, and Gay Rose; closely behind them being Master Brierly, Shy, Paso Robles and Malagigi, with Knight of Australia bringing up the rear. Near the halfmile, Master Brierly moved up quickly into second place and he was followed by. Kilonsa, Malagigi, Gay Rose, who was drifting, Shy, Knight of Australia and Paso Robles. As they rounded the turn, Light Comedy, Malagigi, Kilonsa and Master Brierly wero in close, order, followed at two lengths intervals by Knight of t Australia, Gay Rose, Shv and Paso Robles. Halfway down tiie running Master Brierly forged to -the front and went on to win going away by two lengths from Kilonsa, who beat Knight ot Australia by three-quarters of a length, ihere was a gap to Malagigi- who was fourth. Turning along the back Fleur d'Or was out three lengths from Wildflower, Aiwai, Glenogil, Airam, Icing and Accomplice. Near the fivefurlong post Aiwai moved up and at the half-mile she was about two lengths clear of Fleur d'Or, di-opping back, Glenogil and Wildflower, with Icing moving up. Icing was in front before reaching the turn and she led into the straight from Aiwai, Glenogil, Wildflower and Airam. A furlong from the post Wildflower and Airam challenged strongly, but Icing was too good and she was going away at the finish to win b.v a length from Wildflower, who beat,Airam by a head. Glenogil was about four lengths away, fourth, followed at intervals by Aiwai, Accomplice Mnd Fleur d'Or. Time, 2m 395. Erination moved up to join Kilberis in the lead, while at a five-length interval followed V alpai, Sand-drift and Irish Comet. Crossing /the top. Krination established a break of iive lengths on Kilberis with Irish Comet moving up to he another three-'lengths away in third position. After rounding the turn Erination incrpasoil his lead to six lengths from Kilberis and Irish Comet, who were on terms, and in the run to the post be was not troubled to maintain the mar gin and scored very easily from Irish Comet, who outstayed Kilberis for £ second. Whirling, Round Up, Stretto and Suleiman were first to become prominent from a good start, Suleiman going to the front on the rails in the first furlong from Francis Drake, Race Call, Stretto, Llangollen, Whirling, Dark Shadow, Dav Wind and Golden Sheila, with Tray Bit and High Tea bringing up the rear. Passing the half-mile Suleiman led by half a length from Race Call, who was closely followed bv Francjs Drake, Llangollen, Stretto, Whirling and Golden Sheila. Suleiman showed the way into the straight to Race Call, Francis Drake, Llangollen, Stretto, Whirling, Valamito, Golden Sheila and Day Wind. Near the distance Francis Drake headed Suleiman, while Llangollen, Stretto and Golden Sheila challenged strongly. Francis Drake held on to win bv a neck from Stretto. who defeated Llangollen by a head. Golden Sheila was almost in lino fourth, and Suleiman was another head away fifth. Adsum was then left with a slight lead from Lucidus, Smiling Thru' and Neil, who was making up ground. Adsum and Lucidus were together over the stone wall at the bottom of the straight, with Smiling Thru' and Neil closing up. Halfway down the straight Lucidus and Neil singled themselves out, and in a hard finish Neil staved on the better to win by half a length, with Smiling Thru' two lengths away third.
