GRAND LARCENY CHARGE CASE OF 'RICHARD WHITNEY NEW YORK. April 11 The Wall Street broker Richard Whitney, who pleaded guilty to an indictment carrying a term of 10 years' imprisonment after his business had failed last month, has been sentenced to from five to 10 years in Sing Sing prison. Richard Whitney was the head of the brokerage firm of Richard Whitney Company. He pleaded guilty on March 18 to a charge of grand larceny on which he was indicted by a grand jury a week previously. The Stock Exchange expelled Whitney and suspended his two partners from trading for three years. Their seats were ordered to he sold for the benefit of the firm's creditors. Whitney was charged with stealing IO.'LOOO dollars' worth of securities from the New York Yacht Club.
