OFFENCE REPEATED
YOUNG MAORI SENTENCED A Maori, Taare Biddle, aged 24, sent from the Whakatane Court, was sentenced by Mr. Justice Fair in the Supreme Court yesterday on a charge of having had carnal knowledge of a girl 13 years of age. Evidence was given by the probation officer, Mr, J, Anderson, that prisoner had been sentenced in July last by Mr. Justico Callan to probation for two years for a similar offence with the same girl. One of the conditions of probation was that ho did not associate with her again. His Honor said that within one month of his release on probation prisoner had repeated the offence and had repeated it more than once since. He would now be sentenced to three months imprisonment for the first offence and three months for the second, toe two periods to be cumulative.
