IMPRESSIVE SPECTACLE PROCESSION THREE MILES LONG , . SYDNEY, April 9 Tens of thousands of people lined the streets of Sydney this morning to witness the greatest commercial and industrial pageant ever presented in Australia. ... x The procession, which was about three miles long,. comprised 106 floats. 20 bands, and also other units, including early and modern fire-fighting appliances, SO huge grotesque heads, 300 girls fi jm an athletic club, clowns, elephants, tigers and a troop of miniature ponies ridden by small girls and boys. After traversing a number of city streets, the pageant encircled the showground. The pageant and the opening of the Royal Show were features of the anniversary- celebrations.
