OUTSIDERS WIN

ILLIMANI'S dividend MORE THAN HALF-CENTURY RACELINE and abbey lass parquet annexes handicap Outsiders were well to tho foro on the second day of the Whangarei Racing Club's Autumn Meeting on Saturday when every favourite was beaten and there were some good dividends. The greatest surprise was the victory of llliinani in the Parua Bay Hurdles, for which lie was the outsider of the field of seven on both machines, paying over half a century for a win and double figures for a place. Other winners to make good returns were Raceline and Abbey Lass, both of whom paid double figure*, lbc conditions were again very favourable, and the racing proved highly ''interesting. The chief event, the Autumn Handicap, was won by Parquet, ami the Flying Handicap fell to the top-weight, Tosh, who recorded a fine performance. The attendance was good, and the totalizator handled £17,020, compared with £17,214 on tho second day last year, a decrease of £194. Tho investments for the meeting were £29,522, against £32,1ti0 10s last year, a decrease of i-(33b 10s. Results: —
