BADMINTON

AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION The president reported at the annual general meeting of the Auckland Badminton Association upon the remarkably successful season experienced last year, when the membership comprised 20 clubs, having 502 members. The balance-sheet also disclosed a satisfactory state of affairs, and it was decided to transfer £7O to the building trust account. The present 'Season promises to be equally successful, and interest centres in the visit of an Australian team, which will play Auckland on June 28. The following officers were elected:—President. Mr. D. C. James; vice-president, Mr. D. Shale; secretary-treasurer, Mr. E. R. Utling; committee, Messrs. R. Hull, L. Cleal. W. S. C. Harris, A. Weir, R. Henderson.

CLUB AT HAMILTON [from our own corrkspondext] HAMILTON, Sunday The president, Dr. F. A. Lamb, presided over a good attendance nt the annual meeting of the Wist End Badminton Club. The club was in a sound position, stated tho president in his report, and there was a credit balance of £ll 8s 3d. A loss on tho year's workings of £'2 Sg Id was mainly due to added expenditure for rent of courts, this item showing an increase of Membership showed an increase on last season, but many promising players had been lost owing to transfer from Hamilton. Threo teams entered for competition matches and all performed creditably, the C team being runner-up to the Hamilton Club. Members of the club had had a good measure of success in tho Waikato championships. Officers were elected ns follows:—President. Dr. F. A. Lamb; vice-president. Mr. F. C. Henry; secretary, Mr. J. J. Granville; treasurer, Mr. If. Koss; committee, Misses P. Rogers, Z. Holmes, Mr. I. Owsley; auditor, Mr. A. B. Matthews; delegates to Waikato Badminton Association, Dr. Lamb, Mr. Ross.

WEST END CLUB [from our own corhkspoxdf.nt] HAMILTON, Sunday A satisfactory season was reviewed at the annual meeting of the West End Badminton Club. Dr. F. A. Lamb presided, and said the membership had shown an increase. Additional courts had been obtained for the coming season. The election of officers resulted:—President, Dr. F. A. Lamb; vicepresident, Mr. F. C. Henry; secretary, Mr. J. J. Granville; committee, Misses P. Rogers. Z. Holmes, and Mr. J. Owsley.
