POKENO-MEROER BRANCH ANZAC DAY PRESENTATION [from our own correspondent] POKENO, Sunday There was a larger attendance than usual of members at the annual meeting of the Pokeno-Mercer branch of the Franklin Returned Soldiers' Association, held in the Pokeno Valley Hall last evening. The president, Mr. T. T. Montgomery, was in the chair. The annual report and balance-sheet showed the branch to be in a strong financial pQsition. A photographic memorial, a largo Union Jack and the New Zealand Hag, the gifts of Mrs. C. Lippiat, of Pokeno, will ""be presented at the Anzac Day memorial service. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. T. T. Montgomery; vicepresident, Mr. C. Kontze; secretary and treasurer, Mr. C. M. Todd; committee, Messrs. I). Gulland. A. Lennan. C. Halford, C. Ryder. T. Wright, T. F. Hutchinson. F. White. Two members. Messrs. B. S. Syverster and J. W. MeClcnnan, are making the trip to Sydney to take part in the Anzac Day celebrations.
HUNUA BRANCH SUCCESS Fll L R EUNI ON [from our own correspondent] HUXUA, Sunday A successful reunion was held last evening by t.hc Hunua branch of the Franklin Returned Soldiers' Association in the Hunua public hall. Mr. R. M. Cowan presided over a good attendance. The usual toasts were honoured, and were interspersed with items.
