MAIDEN VOYAGE
THE PORT SAINT JOHN ARRIVAL AT AUCKLAND EASTERN CANADA SERVICE One of three motor-ships constructed bv the Port Lino for the M.A.X.Z. Line's service between Eastern Canada and New Zealand, the motor-ship Port Saint John reached Auckland late last night on her maiden voyage from Halifax and anchored in the stream. She will berth this morning at Queen's Wharf. •>
Of about 6000 tons gross, the Port Saint John's cargo handling gear is very complete, and provision is made for the carriage of refrigerated cargo. The accommodation for the master, officers and engineers is in large, streamlined deck-houses amidships and the crew accommodation is under the shelter-deck aft. The Port Saint John, which is commanded by Captain W. L. Lyiul, was launched at Sunderland in August.
