VISITING BOYS

REMINDERS OF CITY THE FIRE AT MANGERE STAY EXTENDED BY A DAY Occurrences which should remain fixed in the membry of the party of visiting English public school hoys have had an influence on their stay in Auckland. The Auckland Aero Club's building. in which some of the party attended a dance on Saturday night, was burned to the ground yesterday morning, and because the Awatea has been delayed by storms in the Tasman their visit here will be extended by one day. No further official entertainments have been arranged for the visitors, who will have free clays with their hosts and hostesses to-day and to-morrow. Five of the party spent the week-end cruising in the Hauraki Gulf, after being guests at a luncheon given in their honour by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron on Saturday. Most of the other boys attended the dance held for their benefit by the Aero Club it its clubhouse at Mangero on Saturday night. Because of the fire, a luncheon arranged for five of the boys at the clubhouse yesterday had to be transferred to the club's new lecture room. During the afternoon they witnessed a display of aerobatics in the club's Tiger Moth machine by Lord Malcolm Douglas-Ham-ilton, who made preliminary arrangements in New Zealand for the party. A divine service which was to have been held at the Devonport naval base yesterday morning was cancelled.
