RESIDENTS FAREWELLED

A farewell evening in honour of Mr, and Mrs. J. Dixon, who are leaving Waihou after having lived there for 13 years, was held by their friends recently. On behalf of the residents of Waihou, Mr. D. Lewis presented Mr. and Mrs. Dixon with a silver tea service and a leather suitcase. Mr. R. Burke, on behalf of the To Aroha Jockey Club, Mr. R. W. Stevens on behalf of the To Aroha Boxing Association, and Mr. K. H. Landman for the Waihou Football Club, spoke appreciatively of tho good work Mr. Dixon had done for these organisations.
